KURANDA

  • more focus on the local market, targeting experiences that people would like to do regularly.

       (eg: create a tag along experience when it is peak Nomad time,          bring back the Kuranda Festival, build on the canoe race from

        Mareeba to Kuranda.) There are any number of possibilities all

        of which will see people travel to and experience a Village in the

        Rainforest. 

  • Maintain the Kuranda Infrastructure Advisory Committee focus on projects that benefit Skyrail and the Train.

  • continue with the trails and signage. 

  • reinvigorate the Kuranda Precinct committee and work on a long-term plan for the precinct including seeking grants to complete identified projects.

  • work with the Kuranda Amphitheatre committee and develop a business plan to increase usage.

  • continue to investigate possible sites for a new Kuranda cemetery, consulting with the community as information becomes available.

SPEEWAH/KOAH:

  • continue to support the Koah Hall committee and work with them in the delivery of the 'Festival of Small Halls' concert

  • work with the Speewah committee identifying any projects to be tabled

  • identify the cost to seal the remaining section of road of the school bus run on Speewah Road
